Most project management tools were built by software engineers who've never run a program. Counterpart was built by people who have and it shows in every design decision we've made.
Counterpart was founded in 2017 with a single conviction: that the tools available to program and portfolio leaders were not good enough. Disconnected, difficult to adopt and built without an understanding of how enterprise and public sector delivery actually works.
Our founding team brought years of experience from global businesses and public sector organizations, in-depth knowledge of program management, IT delivery, business transformation and finance. We built Counterpart to be the platform we'd always wanted.
Today, with offices in London, Vancouver and Nevada, Counterpart supports organizations across UK central government, defense, health, local authority and enterprise, all through a platform that's easy to deploy, quick to adopt and designed to increase productivity from day one.

These aren't marketing claims, they're the design decisions we made when building Counterpart and why we made them.
Counterpart is built as a single data model. Financials, resources, governance and delivery share the same underlying data, they don't exchange it via an integration that can break or fall out of sync.
In most tools, financials are an add-on. In Counterpart, budget lifecycle, planned, actuals, forecast, CAPEX, OPEX, is built into the core. Financial control is delivery control.
Every dashboard, every KPI, every status, live from the platform's single data model. Nobody builds reports manually. Nobody waits until Friday to know what's happening.
We built governance into the delivery workflow, not as a compliance layer on top of it. RAID, change control and decisions happen as part of how teams work, not as a separate overhead they resent.
Designed for broad organizational adoption from day one. Not just for the PMO power users, for the program managers, business analysts, resource managers and executives who need to use it every day.
Your operating model is built into Counterpart during onboarding, not discovered as a limitation after go-live. We capture your workflow first. We build around it. Then you go live.
Our onboarding process captures how your organization actually works, then builds Counterpart around it. You get a platform that fits from day one, not one you have to bend your processes to fit.
